Pune, 21st September 2026: Two sisters were allegedly assaulted with stones, kicks and an iron rod following a dispute over their pet dog in Waghmare Vasti, Wagholi, on Tuesday, September 15.
The incident reportedly began after one of the accused allegedly drove a vehicle over the dog, following which the animal started barking.
According to the complaint filed by Jayashree Chavan at Wagholi Police Station, the incident escalated after the dog barked. An argument followed, during which Tarachand Kalram Waghmare allegedly assaulted Jayashree with a stone and also kicked and punched her.
Jayashree suffered injuries to her head, chest and back in the attack. Her sister Vaishali was also allegedly assaulted when she intervened.
According to the complaint, Hiraman Kalram Waghmare allegedly struck Vaishali on the head and waist with an iron rod. Both sisters were also allegedly abused and assaulted with kicks and punches.
Based on Jayashree Chavan's complaint, Wagholi Police have registered a case against Tarachand Kalram Waghmare and Hiraman Kalram Waghmare. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the assault.
