Pune, 25 April 2026: A shocking gunfiring incident took place on Friday evening at a salon in the Warje area of Pune, leaving two people injured and sparking panic among locals. The incident occurred at Chaitanya Chowk, where unidentified assailants opened fire inside the salon.

Nihal Shinde was getting a haircut when he was shot near his left ear and sustained injuries. During the scuffle that followed, Amol Adhav was also injured. Both were rushed for treatment, and their condition is reported to be stable.

According to police, around three to four attackers were involved in the firing. The situation was brought under control quickly, preventing further harm. One of the accused, Sahil Raut, was detained at the scene by the crime branch team.

Police officials stated that the attack appears to be linked to an old rivalry between Nihal Shinde and the accused, dating back to January 2023. “The incident is believed to have occurred due to previous enmity. Further investigation is underway,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police Sambhaji Kadam.

The incident has raised fresh concerns about rising crime in Pune, especially with increasing reports of gang-related violence and firing cases. Residents in the Warje area expressed fear and have demanded strict action against criminals. Police have launched a detailed investigation into the case.
