Pune: Water logging near Karmabhumi area on Lohegaon-Wagholi road has aggravated this year. Citizens in the area have demanded that the Pune Municipal Corporation officials must look into this matter immediately and find a permanent solution to this problem.

One side of Lohegaon-Wagholi road falls inward number 3 Viman Nagar area and the other in the newly formed Ward 42. There is no stormwater drain system on this road yet. The elected representatives have not paid attention to this part. Due to the low lying area near Karmabhoomi and due to unauthorized constructions on both sides of the road, the natural flow of stormwater has been obstructed and as a result, waterlogging happens on the road.

Currently, due to incessant rains, there is water accumulated on the road as high as 2 feet.

Water has accumulated on the road in an area of 500 metres here. Drivers and pedestrians have to find their way out of this mess. Every year, citizens have to face this same water logging problem. This road has turned into a pond due to lack of drainage. Citizens have demanded a permanent solution to this problem.

Adv. Suresh Jadhav said, "Every year during monsoons, huge waterlogging happens on these roads. Drivers have to suffer while driving on the road. We expect that the Municipal Corporation should solve this problem permanently."
In this regard, Yashwant Shitape said, "Every year there is a problem, but the corporators and municipal officials do not pay attention. Temporary solutions are planned every year, and the problem arises again during the monsoon season. The elected local representatives should pay attention and solve the water problem here permanently."

MP Girish Bapat recently visited the area and witnessed the problems. He heard complaints of the citizens. He also assured to solve the problems permanently. Party workers Mohanrao Shinde, Dhananjay Jadhav, Sunil Khandwe, Deepak Khandwe, Swapnil Khandwe, Pandurang Khandwe, Deepak Sharma, Gautam Kumar, Sujit Benadi were present on this occasion.
