Pune, 18th July 2026: After remaining dry for more than 10 days, light showers made a comeback in the city on Saturday, bringing welcome relief to residents who had been dealing with rising heat and humidity.
Light showers were reported in several suburbs from the morning, while cloudy skies prevailed across the city for most of the day, creating cooler and more pleasant weather.
Following heavy rainfall during the first week of July, Pune had witnessed an extended dry spell that pushed daytime temperatures higher. Strong sunshine combined with increased humidity had made conditions uncomfortable over the past week.
Saturday's cloudy weather and scattered showers helped lower temperatures, improving overall weather conditions across the city.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) recorded Pune's maximum temperature at 30°C and the minimum at 22.9°C on Saturday. The weather department expects the maximum temperature to drop by another 2–3°C over the next few days.
According to the IMD, Pune is likely to experience partly cloudy skies on Sunday morning, with cloud cover increasing during the afternoon and evening. Very light to light rain is expected in parts of the city, while minimum temperatures are likely to remain stable.
The weather department has forecast similar conditions for the next three to four days, with intermittent light showers and pleasant temperatures expected across Pune and nearby areas.
