Pune Weather: Sunday 2nd hottest day of the season

PUNE: As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Pune city reported day temperature at 39.1 degrees Celsius on Sunday. The night temperature was 22.4 degrees Celsius on Sunday.

The day temperature was 1.5 degrees Celsius more than normal, whereas night temperature was 2.5 degrees more than the normal temperature. Sunday was the second hottest day of the season so far. On April 5, Pune reported 39.3 degrees Celsius.

On Sunday, the highest maximum temperature reported in the State was at 42.8 degrees Celsius in Akola. Whereas, the lowest minimum temperature reported was at 20.8 degrees Celsius in Mahabaleshwar.

As per predictions made by the Weather Department, Madhya Maharashtra may experience light rains with thunderstorms till April 13.

As earlier reported, the summer months in Maharashtra are expected to be harsh with day temperature up to one degree Celsius above normal in the next three months. As per the India Meteorological Department, there is a 40 per cent probability of above-normal maximum temperatures in the Core Heat Wave (HW) areas that include Maharashtra.
