Pune, 28 November 2025: Pune is expected to record a slight drop in minimum temperatures for today and tomorrow, as cold winds from the north continue to enter into the region. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the city's night temperatures may fall by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius over the next 48 hours.
Weather conditions across Konkan, Goa, Central Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidarbha are likely to remain dry for the next six days. In Pune, areas such as Shivajinagar, Pashan, Haveli, Chinchwad, Ambegaon, Baramati, Talegaon, Daund, Lavale, Shirur and Koregaon Park recorded minimum temperatures ranging between 12°C and 19°C.
Over the past week, Pune’s minimum temperatures had slightly increased. However, the IMD noted that parts of the city, including Pashan, Lohegaon, Lavale, Chinchwad, Magarpatta, NDA and Koregaon Park, may see a small dip over the next two days.
Even as temperatures fluctuate, Pune’s air quality has worsened significantly. The city’s Air Quality Index (AQI) climbed to 237, placing it in the ‘poor’ category. PM2.5 concentrations touched 162 µg/m³ while PM10 levels rose to 210 µg/m³, far above the safe limits.
Experts say the temperature variations and stable winter-like conditions are contributing to the rise in pollution levels.
With cooler nights ahead and pollution on the rise, Pune continues to face a challenging weather–air quality combination.
