Pune: Case Filed After Woman Journalist Allegedly Harassed During Protest Coverage

Police register offence against a reel star over abuse, obscene remarks, and unauthorized filming on Tilak Road; Police have registered a case and started investigation

Pune, 1st April 2026: A case has been registered against social media reel star Santosh Pandit for allegedly misbehaving with a woman journalist in Pune. The complaint was filed at Parvati Police Station following an incident that took place on March 30 during a protest on Tilak Road.

According to police officials, a group of women had gathered near a college on Tilak Road to protest against the Nashik-based ‘Bhondubaba’ Captain Ashok Kharat case. The demonstration reportedly led to traffic congestion in the area.

During the protest, the woman journalist had reached the spot to cover the event. It is alleged that Santosh Pandit used abusive language against her and made inappropriate and obscene comments about her attire. The complaint further states that he recorded her on his mobile phone without her consent.

Following the incident, the journalist approached the police and filed a formal complaint. Based on her statement, Parvati Police have registered an offence against Pandit and initiated further investigation into the matter.

Police officials confirmed that necessary legal action is underway and the case is currently being probed.
