Pune: Youth dies by suicide over broken marriage

Pune: After his arranged marriage was broken up, a 26-year-old man died by suicide in Bhosari. In this regard, the police have registered the case against a woman for provoking to commit suicide. 

The police have identified the deceased as Bharat Krishna Talpe (26) from Bhosari. His father Krishna Keshav Talpe (55), a resident of Ghangaldare, from Junnar Taluka in Pune lodged a First Information Report at Bhosari Police Station Sunday. Accordingly, the police have registered a case against the woman who has been identified as Usha Balu Sarogde (23), a resident of Khadkumbe, Junnar.

According to police officials, “The deceased Bharat and Usha’s marriage was fixed and it was arranged marriage but due to some issue Usha who felt that there was some trivial reason she called off the marriage based on which he suffered mental anguish as well as depression. Thus, Bharat died by suicide at his residence in Chakrapani Colony in Bhosari.”

“Also, between July 21 and 31, 2020, the suspect tortured Bharat and drove him to take such extreme step of committing suicide,” the police added. Bharat committed suicide by hanging himself. The police are investigating the case further.
