PIMPRI: A COVID-19 patient who had managed to flee from his isolation ward in Pimpri Chinchwad was nabbed by police in a short time after his escape.

The patient, who had returned from Thailand recently, was admitted in an isolation ward after he was found to be COVID-19 positive. When the patient realised that he was affected by the disease, he fled from the hospital.

Doctors and other hospital staff unsuccessfully tried to prevent his escape. The hospital administration then contacted the police.

The hospital staff, accompanied by the police personnel, reached the patient’s residence. The patient’s relatives contacted him and he was nabbed while taking the necessary precautions to prevent infection.

Meanwhile, medical reports of all family members and other contacts of the patient have turned out negative. However, they have been advised to take the necessary healthcare for the next few days.
