Sinhagad Road rejoices with fun run

Pune: Residents of Sinhagad Road woke up with great enthusiasm on Sunday as all were geared up to participate in the Last Sunday of the Month (LSOM) fun run organised by Pune Running Sports Foundation. 

From children to senior citizens, all took part in the run, which was conducted for 21 km, 10 km, 5 km and 3 km distance. A total of 1,725 runners participated. 

Dr Vaishali Kudkar Superintendent of Police, CID, flagged off the run. 

The 21-km run began at 5.45 am from PL Deshpande Garden while the 10-km race commenced at 6 am. The 5-km run and 3-km run started at 6.30 am and 7 am respectively. 

Participants and volunteers enjoyed the event. At every 100 metres volunteers assembled to guide runners. 

The fun run saw the presence of Bahusaheb Patil, Director (Operations), Sakal Media Group, Santosh Kudle, Circulation Manager of Sakal, Tejaswi Satpute, Additional Superintendent (Pune Rural) and Corporators Anand Rithe and Jyoti Gosavi. Senior Police Inspector of Dattawadi Anil Patil and Murlidhar Karpe also attended the event. 

Specially abled mark their presence 
The run saw a group of 16 specially-abled taking part in the fun run. The group had some children and senior citizens who competed with their caretakers. 

What is LSOM? 
Last Sunday of the Month Run (LSOM) is one of the Pune running’s marquee events which is conducted in various parts of Pune on the last Sunday of every month to inculcate the habit of running among the residents.
