Originally hailed from Beed district, Sunny’s family moved to Lohgaon a few years ago in search of a better life. They live in a small hut and struggle daily to make ends meet. His father travels from village to village with a sacred bull to tell people’s fortunes, while his mother sells sewing needles and household items to support the family. Despite these hardships, Sunny never gave up on his dreams.

Sunny began his wrestling journey at Raiba Talim in Lohgaon, where he was trained by Somnath Mozhe and Sadashiv Rakhpasare. Noticing his potential and dedication, he was later admitted to the Jaanata Raja Wrestling Center in Lonikand, where he trained under coach Sandeep Bhondwe. His intense hard work, discipline, and determination shaped him into a champion.

Now a Class 10 student, Sunny’s journey from a humble background to the top of the Asian podium stands as an inspiring story for countless young athletes. He has proved that with determination and self-belief, dreams can indeed come true.

Following his success, local residents and coaches have urged the government to extend special support and training facilities to help Sunny prepare for national and international tournaments ahead. His story continues to motivate not just Lohgaon or Pune, but youth across India to chase their dreams, no matter how difficult the circumstances.
