Three held for threatening to kill police constable

PUNE: Three miscreants have been arrested by Sangvi police for threatening to kill a police constable inside the Pimple Saudgar police chowki premises under the jurisdiction of Sangvi police station. The incident occurred on Friday night.

Those arrested have been identified as Anil Dalvi (30), Avinash Dalvi (25) and Prakash Kadmane (23), all residents of Sangvi. 

According to information provided by Sangvi police, the trio initially attacked a youth, who was smoking outside a paan shop. Later, when the relatives of the youth complained at Pimple Saudagar police chowki, the trio reached there and created a ruckus. The trio even threatened to kill a police constable.

Police overpowered the accused after the incident and arrested them. All three have been booked under sections 353 (Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of duty) and 332 (Voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from duty) of Indian Penal Code.

Police Commissioner Dr K Venkatesham had promised strict action against persons attacking the police. Superintendent of Pune rural police Sandeep Patil announced that he is going to extern an accused indulged in assaulting two cops on Friday in Daund.
