In the first case, a 38-year-old resident of Ganesh Mala on Sinhagad Road was cheated of ₹4.12 lakh after fraudsters promised to arrange a loan of ₹5 lakh. The victim contacted a number mentioned in an online loan advertisement.

The scammers, posing as employees of a finance company, convinced him to transfer money through multiple transactions on the pretext of processing and approving the loan. A case has been registered at Parvati Police Station.

In another incident, a 56-year-old businessman from Tadiwala Road lost ₹5.30 lakh after opening a wedding invitation link received from an unknown mobile number.

Soon after accessing the link, cybercriminals allegedly obtained banking credentials and OTP details, allowing them to withdraw money from his account. Bund Garden Police have registered a case and started an investigation.

In the third case, a 68-year-old resident of the NIBM area was defrauded of ₹5.99 lakh in the name of updating bank KYC details. The fraudsters contacted him while posing as customer care executives of a nationalised bank and warned that his account would be blocked if the KYC process was not completed.

They then sent an APK file, which the victim downloaded. The scammers subsequently gained access to his banking information and transferred money from his account.

Police have urged citizens to remain cautious while dealing with unknown links, loan offers, KYC update requests, and mobile applications received from unverified sources. Investigations into all three cases are underway.
