Traffic Policeman Assaulted at Khed Shivapur Toll Plaza on Pune–Satara Highway

One suspect detained, another absconding as Rajgad Police continue investigation using CCTV footage and other evidence

Pune, 16th June 2026: Police Constable Prashant Raut of the Rajgad Police Station Traffic Branch was allegedly assaulted while performing traffic management duties at the Khed Shivapur Toll Plaza on the Pune–Satara Highway.

According to police, the incident occurred following an argument between the on-duty traffic officer and a group of individuals. The dispute escalated, resulting in an attack on Constable Raut, who suffered injuries in the incident.

Raut was taken to a private hospital, where he received medical treatment for his injuries.

Following the incident, police launched an investigation and detained one suspect. Another accused is currently absconding, and efforts are underway to locate and arrest him.

Investigators are examining CCTV footage from the area and collecting other evidence to determine the exact sequence of events. Further investigation is being carried out by Rajgad Police Station.
