Pune, 2nd December 2025: To reduce traffic jams around the Pune Airport, the city’s Traffic Department has issued a final notification implementing one-way traffic on two major routes. The decision follows a temporary trial and a public feedback process initiated earlier this month.
A preliminary notification was released on November 15, inviting objections and suggestions from locals. After reviewing the feedback, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Himmat Jadhav issued the final order on December 1. All motorists, except essential service vehicles, must follow the updated rules.
Under the new rules, the stretch covering Shrikrishna Hotel Chowk – Dattamandir Chowk – CCD Chowk and the route from Gangapuram Chowk – Kailas Super Market Chowk – Ganpati Mandir Chowk will now operate as dedicated one-way roads.
Meanwhile, two-way traffic will continue as usual on the following connecting links:
CCD Chowk to Gangapuram Chowk
Dattamandir Chowk to Kailas Super Market Chowk
Ganpati Mandir Chowk to Shrikrishna Hotel Chowk
Officials believe the new structure will streamline movement and help prevent routine bottlenecks in the busy airport neighbourhood of Pune.
