Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Commissioner Vikram Kumar on Thursday clarified that the conditions issued by the Maharashtra state government for the wedding ceremony are not applicable for the city of Pune. He also clarified that no government body would come to inspect the wedding ceremony.

Officials of Maharashtra Catering Association and Catering Association Pune submitted a statement to the Pune Municipal Commissioner objecting to the conditions to be observed by the caterers and wedding hall office staff and lawns operators for the wedding ceremony.
In the discussion held with Kishor Sarpotdar, Sanjeev Welankar, Prakash Dingankar and Vinay Tatke of the various association met PMC commissioner, at that time, PMC commissioner Vikram Kumar clarified that the conditions issued for the wedding ceremony were not applicable to the city of Pune.

Vikram Kumar said, "there is a limit of fifty people for a wedding ceremony in Pune city. But, it will only include the bride and groom family members and dear one. It does not include Bhatji, who is a priest, catering service people and others. Also, police permission is not required for marriage."

He added, "The CD of the wedding ceremony is not to be submitted to the police station. Similarly, the names of fifty people attending the wedding ceremony are not to be submitted to the police station. No written guarantee is required from the Mars office, lawns owner-driver and caterer. There will be no government mechanism to oversee the wedding ceremony."

Officials of the catering association assured to abide by all the health regulations issued by the government. The Maharashtra Catering Association and Catering Association Pune have more than 250 members in all the wedding halls owners as well as the wedding offices bearers, lawns operators, owners and caterers in Pune met the commissioner.
