Vaishnavi Hagawane Suicide Case: Nilesh Chavan Sent to 14-Day Judicial Custody; Hagawane Family Faces New Trouble in JCB Fraud

Pune, 7th June 2025: The jail term of Nilesh Chavan, an accused in the Vaishnavi Hagawane suicide case, has been extended. The court today sent him to 14 days of judicial custody. Therefore, he will remain in judicial custody till June 19.

Earlier, the court had remanded Nilesh Chavan in police custody till June 7. His police custody was to end today. Therefore, he was produced in court again today. This time, after hearing the arguments of both the sides, the court has sent him to judicial custody.

On the other hand, the difficulties of the Hagawane family in the JCB case are also likely to increase. The Hagawane family will be produced in court today in this case. Therefore, it will be important to see what decision the court takes in this regard.

What exactly is the JCB case?

The Hagawane family has been accused of defrauding the JCB sale of Rs 11.70 lakh. This allegation has been made by a person named Prashant Avinash Yelawande.

According to him, Shashank and Lata Hagawane have been accused of defrauding the JCB sale of Rs 11.70 lakh. Yelawande had paid Rs 50,000 of the bank installment to Shashank every month by arranging the sale of the JCB machine in the name of Lata Hagawane. However, Shashank took back the JCB machine without paying any installment and with the help of a recovery agent.

The complaint also states that when Prashant Yelawande went to Shashank to ask for money or a JCB, Shashank threatened to kill him by pointing a pistol at him. In this case, Yelawande has suffered a financial loss of Rs 11.70 lakh.
