Woman tricks over dozens of dudes on dating apps in Pune; arrested

Pune: A 27-year-old woman was arrested by Crime Branch of Pimpri-Chinchwad Police for allegedly duping 16 men via dating apps.

Four men had complained to the police against a woman whom they met on the dating app who spiked their drinks and robbed them of their gold valuables and mobile phones. The suspect is identified as Sayali alias Shikha Devendra Kale (27), resident of Radhika Apartment, Camp, Pune.

The cops made fake profiles on the dating app and tracked down the woman recently. According to the police, the girl confessed that she stole valuables and mobile phones to make quick cash. Meanwhile, police have seized some jewellery from her residence and other from a jeweller in Rasta Peth. The police further informed that the suspect has a good educational background. While her father had passed away ten years back. She also was working in a telecom company but left the job a year ago.

According to the police, the woman would carry sleeping pills prescribed for her mother who was a patient of high BP (Blood Pressure). The woman would mix the pills in the men’s drink and when these men fell unconscious, she used to steal their gold valuables and mobile phones. She would also delete chat history from their phone and destroy it.

She once also told one of the jewellers in the city that her father is retired Colonel in Indian Army and ailing from cancer and kept gold as a mortgage.

Police have seized gold jewellery and mobile phones worth Rs 15,25,000. The woman has been booked under IPC (Indian Penal Code) sections 328 (Causing hurt by means of poison, etc, with intent to commit an offence) and 379 (Punishment for theft).
