The 'Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahini' scheme being implemented in Maharashtra helped the Mahayuti win the assembly elections in the state. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar gave all the credit for this to Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Chouhan had implemented the 'Ladli Behana' scheme when he was the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. That is what inspired us, Ajit Pawar said, thanking Chouhan at a function in Pune.

He was speaking at the concluding session of an agriculture hackathon jointly organised by the state government's agriculture department, Mahatma Phule Agriculture University and College of Agriculture.

"The 'Ladli Behen' scheme launched by former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan inspired us and we implemented the 'Mukhyamantri Ladki Bahin' scheme on the same lines," Pawar said.

Through this scheme, we have earned the trust of the people, especially women. Our candidates won 236 seats. This is the biggest and most historic victory. Thanking Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Pawar said, "You showed us the way to win the hearts of the voters."

"We followed in your footsteps and implemented this scheme and gained the trust of the voters. That's why it was successful. Thank you for showing us the way to victory."

This is your Scheme

Speaking to reporters after the event, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, "This scheme is not mine, it is yours. I thank the state government for this. They understood the pain of the poor sisters, they faced thousands of problems and  this program helped them. This is a journey of women empowerment.

Many other states are following the work done by Maharashtra. If other states do well, Maharashtra follows suit.
