Pune, 14 July 2025: A serious case of workplace misconduct has emerged from a small IT company in Pune, where six female employees have resigned with immediate effect. The employees have cited a deeply toxic work environment marked by continuous verbal abuse and repeated threats of career damage, including blacklisting in the industry.

Following their resignations, the affected employees have approached the Forum for IT Employees (FITE) for support. FITE has confirmed that it will engage with the company’s management to address the matter. Should the company fail to provide a satisfactory response, FITE is prepared to escalate the case to the Labour Office for further action.

In addition to professional mistreatment, there are concerns that the nature of abuse may extend into gender-based harassment or discrimination. If this is confirmed during the inquiry, the matter will also be taken up with the Mahila Aayog (Women’s Commission), according to FITE representatives.

The employees, showing remarkable foresight, have documented their experiences through official emails, written records, and call recordings. FITE is urging other IT workers facing similar situations to maintain proper documentation, as it is essential for building a strong case against workplace abuse.

FITE has also appealed to IT company owners, particularly those who are former MNC professionals, to uphold workplace dignity and respect. "The size of a company does not justify toxic behavior. A respectful and safe work culture is not optional, it’s a basic necessity," the organization stated.
