Workshop to promote agro-tourism held

PUNE: With an aim to promote agro-tourism, a two-day workshop was held by the officials of the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC), Parashar Agro-tourism and Vishwa Agro-tourism last Saturday and Sunday in Rajuri near Alephata. 

Farmers from seven different districts participated in the event to understand the whole process of planning and executing the business idea of agro-tourism. 

Speaking about the workshop, MTDC Regional Manager Deepak Harane said that the aim of the workshop was to promote agro-tourism, which can help farmers on a long run.

“There is a large scope for the development of agro-tourism in Pune district and mainly in Junnar taluka. We will try our best to spread awareness about agro-tourism in the farming community. We showed the farmers, the ways to market and advertise for agro-tourism business,” added Harane.

The regional manager said that the farmers were also explained how to get a bank loan for starting an agro-tourism farm and their doubts related to their banking needs were also cleared. Members of Vishwa Agro-tourism explained about digital and social media presence of agro-tourism to the farmers to help them increase their reach.
