PUNE: After the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) released the video footage and photographs of the accused involved in the killing of Rahul Fatangade during the flare-up at Koregaon-Bhima, they have managed to get hold of one more accused on Wednesday.

The arrested accused has been identified as Suraj Shinde, 21, a resident of Daund. Shinde was hiding in Tembhurni village in Madha taluka in Solapur district.

Three other accused from Ahmednagar have already been detained.

CID had released the video on June 8 and had sought publicity to nab the killers. The video showed Fatangade being attacked by a group of youth with sticks, who also smashed his face with stones. There are a few more persons in the video. The police are searching for them.

Fatangade, who died in the riots at Sanaswadi village during the clashes on January 1, was from a modest background.

Riots erupted in Koregaon-Bhima during the 200th anniversary of the battle of Koregaon-Bhima.

Akkannouru Prasad Prahlad, Superintendent of Police, CID, said, “We have detained him on Wednesday and conducting an inquiry. We have not arrested him yet but have detained him.”
