PUNE: “The electrification of Pune to Miraj rail track of 278 km and Miraj to Kolhapur of 47 km will be completed by December 2020,” said Divisional Railway Manager Milind Deouskar here on Thursday in an informal talk with the media.

The rail track on the route will also be doubled at an estimated cost of Rs 3,000 crore. This will give a push to cargo and passenger transportation in Western Maharashtra that was deprived of a strong rail network.
