World No. 4 Amanda Anisimova won her second WTA 1000 title of the year, overcoming Linda Noskova to win the China Open final 6-0, 2-6, 6-2 on Sunday. The American third seed captured her fourth career title after a one-hour, 46-minute battle on the hard courts in Beijing. The victory continues a strong season for Anisimova, who also reached the finals at both Wimbledon and the U.S. Open this year.
The match began with Anisimova in complete control, as she broke the 20-year-old Czech three times to win the opening set 6-0 in just 23 minutes. Noskova, competing in her first WTA 1000 final, mounted a comeback in the second set, breaking Anisimova's serve early and leveling the match. However, Anisimova regained her form in the decider, breaking Noskova's serve in the sixth game and winning the final four games to seal the championship with a backhand winner down the line.
Following the win, Anisimova reflected on her recent form after dealing with an ankle injury last month. "It was a super tough match, I really had to dig deep," she said. "It's been quite a few weeks for me, for sure. I feel like I've learned a lot about myself. I can take a lot of positives and have made a lot of progress... just figuring out ways to face certain challenges and push myself in moments when it feels like I can't go any further."
Noskova’s run to the final was a career milestone, as she became the youngest Czech player to advance this far at a WTA 1000 event since 2009. During her post-match speech, she praised her opponent's performance throughout the season. "I just want to congratulate Amanda. You've been playing amazing through this whole year. Actually, you've been more than annoying to all of us," Noskova joked.
The two finalists shared a respectful exchange after the match. Anisimova, who became the third American to win the China Open title after Serena Williams and Coco Gauff, congratulated Noskova on her tournament performance, which included victories over two top-10 seeds. "You're so young still, so I'm sure we'll have a lot more finals to play," Anisimova said.
