Back to the top: India topple New Zealand to bag number 1 spot in ICC Test rankings

Ahmedabad: With top-class performance by Virat Kohli and co in Test series against England, India has reclaimed rank 1 in the latesr ICC Test Team Rankings.

The Indian team jumped to sit atop with 122 rating, while New Zealand slipped to second rank with rating of 118.

Also, the win against England in the fourth Test at Narendra Modi Stadium on Saturday ensured Team India's place in the final against New Zealand. India will also finish the WTC (World Test Championship) as the table topper with a winning per cent of 72.2.

Despite their defeat against India, Joe Root's England managed to stay at the fourth position in the latest ICC Test Rankings while Australia booked the third position. The final of the World Test Championship will be played on June 18 at iconic Lord's.

Meanwhile, Team India will next face England in a five-match T20I series, starting at Ahmedabad from March 12.
