Inclusion of two new Indian Premier League (IPL) clubs, set up up of different committees as well as an update on T20 World Cup scheduled to be held next year will be the key points of agenda in the General Meeting (AGM) of the Indian cricket board (BCCI) that takes place on Thursday in Ahmedabad.

The meeting will also discuss the stand of the BCCI on the addition of cricket in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. While, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah will remain India's representative at the ICC on various issues like last year along with Sourav Ganguly.

Among other points will be appointment of members to the IPL Governing Council, one of which, from the Indian Cricketers' Association, has already been chosen Pragyan Ojha replacing Surinder Khanna.

TWO TEAMS IN IPL

There have been talks about the new IPL franchises, it likely that the two new franchises could come in from 2022.

T20 WORLD CUP 2021

There's only a week left for the board to meet the ICC's deadline of giving complete assurance that the global body will receive full tax exemption for conducting the World T20 next year or else it will be shifted to the UAE.

While there has been priority of exemptions during earlier global events, the ongoing tax laws won't permit exemption for a sporting event.

CRICKET COMMITTEES

The BCCI hasn't established important cricket sub-committees so far. It is learnt that a new Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) will be set up which will interview candidates for three new selectors. Cricket committees like umpiring committee and the technical committee are also likely to be set up.

OLYMPICS

If BCCI supports cricket at the Olympics in 2028, it might lose its autonomy as being a National Sports Federation means coming under the domain of Sports Ministry with constant government interferences.
