Pune: Defending champions Deccan Gymkhana ‘A’ and Sardar Dastur clinched boys and girls title respectively in the 3rd Akshay Bhosale Cup Senior District Basketball Championship at Deccan Gymkhana.
Deccan Gymkhana ‘A’ defeated Akshay Bhosale Gymkhana ‘A’ 73 while Sardar Dastur got better of Deccan Gymkhana 57-51.
In the boy’s semifinal, it turned out to be raining of baskets as both the teams kept on the scoring basket in tandem. Deccan took 48-29 lead. at the end of half time.
After resumption, Deccan boys continued their domination to clinch a title.
In the girls final, Sardar Dastur started with a bang taking a 23-8 lead in the first quarter. Deccan girls fought hard and reduced the deficit to 15 points with the scoreline reading 36-21. In the end Sardar Dastur held nerves to secure 6 points victory.
