PUNE: Host’s Freekick Football Academy ‘A’ and Lions FA ‘A’ were the only two teams to have both Under-14 and Under-12 teams qualify for the next stage of the 2nd Freekick Cup Inter-Academy 5-a-side Football Tournament at its home turf at Baner-Balewadi on Wednesday.

Both teams remained unbeaten and top their respective three-team groups.

In the Under-14 section, Freekick ‘A’ got past CISK ‘A’ 2-0 in Group-A after Akshan Bansal and Akshay scored. Later they pipped Ultimate FC 1-0 by holding on to a Akshay Shukla strike

In contrast, Lions FA had it easy in Group-E. They began with a 5-0 win over HA Academy after Tanishk Gore (2), Aryan Sasane, Ketan Babu, Keshav Pazayamur scored. Later, they posted a 3-0 win over Liferocks with Ketan Babu (2) and Tanishk Gore nettting.

The other Under-14 qualifiers include; Freekick FA ‘A’ (Group-A); FC Pune City (Group-B); Mathew F.A (Group-C); Sonba Raiders (Group-D); Lions FC (Group-E) and others.
