An already exhausted Indian group has been strained further with injuries to Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant during the team's first innings against Australia in Sydney Test.
Scans discovered that the wicket-keeper had not sustained any fracture and the Delhite will make a comeback. On the other side, Jadeja, wasn’t on the field during Australia's second innings and fractured his left thumb. The left-handed all-rounder has been ruled out of the remainder of the Test series.

Ishant Sharma
The right-arm pacer was being monitored ahead of the beginning of the Test series bit never managed to make it in time. His absence has been felt greatly in the ongoing series. The pacer will be seen in action in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for Delhi next.
KL Rahul
The man who ruled the Indian Premier League (2020) was one of the contenders to be included in the playing XI as an opener in the ongoing third Test but the Karnataka batsman flew back home after injuring his wrist during training.
Mohammed Shami
The right-arm pacer joined the injury list after he fractured his arm when Pat Cummins hit hum by a bouncer in the first Test at Adelaide. He was subsequently ruled out of the tour. The swing king is expected to remain out for a few weeks.
Umesh Yadav
After an injury to Mohammed Shami, India were hit with another big blow when Umesh Yadav suffered a calf injury. He suffered the injury while bowling during Australia's second innings of the second Test in Melbourne.
Ravindra Jadeja
All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja will miss the remainder Test series he suffered a dislocation and fracture on his left thumb. The left-handed batsman was hit on his left thumb by a bouncer from Mitchell Starc while batting on third day of the third Test at Sydney.
