The Indian Premier League (IPL) this year will begin from April 9

Mumbai: Rejoice cricket lovers, as cricket's greatest fiesta is here. The Indian Premier League (IPL) this year will begin from April 9 and its final is scheduled to be held on May 30, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) informed on Sunday. In a season's opener, defending Champions Mumbai Indians will battle Royal Challengers Bangalore in Chennai.

The matches will be played in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata, the BCCI said on Sunday. The final is scheduled to be played at the newly constructed Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. All matches will be played behind closed doors, with the BCCI saying that a call on permitting fans will be taken at a later stage of the tournament.
