Iyer will be manager of Indian Davis Cup team

PUNE: City based tennis administrator Sunder Iyer has been  nominated by All India Tennis Association (AITA) as the manager of the Indian Davis Cup Tennis team, for the tie against Croatia to be played at Zagreb on March 6 and 7. 

It will be second consecutive assignment for Iyer who is also the Secretary of Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association. He was appointed as the manager of the Indian team for the tie against Pakistan which was held at Nursultan, Kazakhstan in November last year .

“I would like to thank Life President of AITA Anil Khanna, Hon Secretary Hiranmoy Chatterjee, Captain of the team Rohit Rajpal and other members of our Davis Cup team for reposing their faith in me and giving me an opportunity to be a part the Indian team,” said Iyer.

The team that travels to Zagreb will include Rohit Rajpal (Captain), Zeeshan Ali (Coach), Prajnesh Gunneswaran, Sunit Nagal, Ramkumar Ramanathan, Leander Paes, Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan.
