Modern wins inter-college hockey

PUNE: Aniket Gurav starred with four goals as Modern College thumped Ness Wadia College 7-0 to clinch the Inter-college Hockey Tournament here on Tuesday.

Entering the summit clash on back of a 9-0 thrashing of Nowrosjee Wadia College, Modern College continued their dominant streak as they brushed aside Ness Wadia College to clinch the the championship in style. 

Aniket Gurav made his mark that saw him score 4 goals in space of 20 minutes. He was well assisted by Sunil Rathod, who scored 2 goals.

Modern College were of a free-scoring spree and made the most of the chances, scoring 16 combined goals in the process.

Their defence too, was the most consistent. CACP scored a solo goal as they overcame Nowrosjee Wadia College 1-0 to clinch consolation third place.

RESULTS:
Final: Modern College 7 (Sunil Rathod 24, 33, Aniket Gurav 29,31, 48, 49, Ajinkya Jadhav 35) beat Ness Wadia College 0.

Semi-finals: Ness Wadia College 4 (Sagar Mane 10, Pawan Rasane 16,33, Aman Sharma 30) beat CACPE 0; Modern College 9 (Rais Mujawar 1, Pranav Jadhav 29, Ajinkya Jadhav 10, 11, 31, Bhagwan Pawar 16, Sunil Rathod 18, Shubham Mahadik 19, Ganesh Patil 27).
