Pune: Siddhi Acharekar from Muktangan English School & Jr College, Parvati defeated Isha Joshi from Abhinava Vidyalaya English Medium School, Erandwane 11-02, 11-05, 12-10 in the final of the Under-16 girls singles category of the table tennis event of Sakal Schoolympics 2017 in progress at Deccan Gymkhana on Saturday.

Earlier in the semifinals, Siddhi Acharekar defeated Sanika Dhavale from Mount Carmel Convent High School, Lullanagar with the score of 12-10, 11-05, 11-07 to enter the final.

In another semi-final of the day, Isha Joshi got the better of opponent Prisha Budhiraja a student of St Helena’s School, Camp with the score of 07-11,11-08,03-11,12-10,11-08.

Meanwhile in the battle for the third place, Prisha Budhiraja kept her cool as she got the better of Sanika Dhavale as the score read 07-11,11-04,11-06,11-02.
