Three NKBA trainees selected for Asian Badminton Championship

PUNE: Three trainees from Nikhil Kanetkar Badminton Academy (NKBA) have been selected to represent India at the upcoming Badminton Asia Junior Under-15 and Under-17 Championship which is scheduled to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia from December 11 to 15.

Four players from Maharashtra: Varun Kapur (NKBA), Tara Shah (NKBA), Riya Habbu (NKBA) and Manya Avlani have made it to the Indian contingent.

The Selection Committe for juniors had selected the team from the Selection Tournaments which were held at Imphal, Manipur and Guwahati.

Speaking on the development Nikhil Kanetkar said  “It is very satisfying that three of our players have made it to the Indian Team for the Asian Championships. Varun, Tara and Riya all have the potential to do well and I hope that they can come back with a medal for the country.”
