Mumbai, 12th July 2026: AI & Weekends, India's largest AI builder community, launched its Mumbai chapter with a co-build session in collaboration with Sakal Media Group at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) on Sunday, July 12.
The event brought together AI enthusiasts, startup founders, developers and creators to build real AI projects in a collaborative environment.
Unlike conventional technology meetups that focus on keynote speeches and panel discussions, AI & Weekends follows a hands-on approach. Participants work on AI projects from start to finish during a single session, encouraging practical learning, networking and collaboration within Mumbai's growing AI ecosystem.
The Mumbai chapter is led by Anushree Bobade, who hosted her first session as the city's superhost. The event also marked AI & Weekends' first formal collaboration with Sakal Media Group, bringing together members of the city's expanding AI builder community. Going forward, similar co-build sessions will be organised every weekend in Mumbai.
The session was attended by several prominent names from the startup ecosystem, including LearnTube co-founder and CEO Shronit Ladhani, whose AI-powered edtech platform serves over 1.8 million learners globally. Goated Tech founder Russhil Chawla, Mann Jadwani and several other builders from Mumbai's technology community also participated.
AI & Weekends was founded by Priyanshu Ratnakar and Tushar Mehta with the idea of creating a space where people could meet over a weekend and build AI products together. What began as a small gathering has grown into a nationwide community that has hosted more than 30 weekend sessions, attracted over 500 builders and collaborated with organisations such as Devfolio, ElevenLabs and EigenLayer.
The community aims to encourage people to move beyond simply learning AI tools online and instead gain practical experience by building working applications. Participation in the sessions is free, making the initiative accessible to students, professionals, entrepreneurs and aspiring builders.
Following the successful launch, AI & Weekends plans to make weekly co-build sessions a regular feature in Mumbai while expanding collaborations to attract more first-time builders and strengthen the city's AI innovation ecosystem.
