In the race of AI chatbots, Amazon is upping the ante by bringing its Alexa+ assistant to the web through Alexa.com. Early Access users can now interact with Alexa+ across voice, mobile, and browser platforms, positioning it as a direct competitor to web-based AI rivals like ChatGPT, Gemini, and more.

Amazon highlighted how Alexa+ on the web can assist users in multiple ways. "You can use Alexa.com to get quick answers, explore complex topics, create content, plan trip itineraries, and get help with homework. But Alexa+ doesn't just provide information, it's designed to take action. It can help you complete countless tasks: managing your to-do list, updating your family calendar, controlling your smart home, making reservations, and so much more," said Amazon.

Alexa+ Offers

Alexa+ has evolved rapidly since its launch nine months ago, integrating with tens of thousands of services and devices and scaling to tens of millions of customers. According to Amazon, usage has surged with twice the conversations, three times the purchases, and five times the recipe requests compared to earlier Alexa versions.

On the web, Alexa+ can:

  • Deliver fast answers and tackle complex questions.

  • Help create content, plan travel, and support homework.

  • Organize to-do lists, calendars, and control smart home devices.

  • Maintain context across sessions, remembering chats and preferences across devices.

This new interaction model offers a more seamless and powerful way to engage with Alexa+. Paired with the redesigned, agent-focused Alexa mobile app, Alexa+ can now be accessed across all platforms, whether at your desk, on the move, or at home.
