Apple has unveiled yet another unexpected limited-edition MagSafe accessory, the Hikawa Phone Grip & Stand priced at $69.95 (about ₹6,200). Arriving just after the surprising debut of the iPhone Pocket, the launch marks a striking addition to Apple’s 40-year accessibility celebration.

Created in partnership with Los Angeles artist and industrial designer Bailey Hikawa, the accessory functions as both a grip and a stand, providing users with enhanced handling security and the ability to view content hands-free. Hikawa, recognized for her innovative iPhone case designs, has infused this new product with her emphasis on accessibility and ergonomic ease.

Colours & Availability

The Hikawa Phone Grip & Stand is available in only two shades—Chartreuse and Crater, the latter being a recycled-material colourway sold exclusively through Apple’s US online store.

Although the accessory is currently limited to select regions, its accessibility-focused design positions it as one of Apple’s most meaningful additions, despite its premium price tag.

The Design

The Hikawa Phone Grip & Stand snaps on magnetically via MagSafe and works in both vertical and horizontal modes. Its sculpted design supports various hand positions, offering extra stability for users with limited dexterity. Developed through extensive accessibility interviews, it features a soft-touch silicone surface for easy, strain-free attachment and repositioning.

Sarah Herrlinger, Apple's Head of accessibility, mentioned that the company aims to investigate MagSafe accessories that can significantly assist users with particular accessibility requirements, referring to the new product “one of many accessories that solve unique problems for some people.”
