Ather Energy has announced an investment exceeding ₹2,000 crore for the establishment of this state-of-the-art facility. The new plant is expected to create approximately 4,000 jobs, significantly contributing to the local economy.

The Aurangabad plant will have the capacity to produce up to 1 million units of electric two-wheelers and battery packs annually. This expansion aligns with Ather's goal to ramp up production in response to increasing consumer demand.

The choice of AURIC for the new facility allows Ather Energy to reduce logistics costs and improve delivery times by being closer to key markets across India. The region's connectivity via the Samruddhi Expressway further enhances its strategic advantages.

Ather currently operates two manufacturing facilities in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, focusing on battery production and vehicle assembly. The new facility will complement these existing operations while diversifying production capabilities.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis highlighted Maharashtra's supportive business environment and robust policies for electric vehicle manufacturing as key factors in Ather's decision to establish its third plant in the state.

With the rising demand for electric scooters, Ather Energy aims to expand its product portfolio and enhance its network of retail outlets and charging infrastructure across the country. The company currently operates over 200 Experience Centres and has installed more than 1,900 fast chargers (Ather Grids) nationwide.

Ather Energy's decision to shift significant production operations to the new facility in Aurangabad marks a pivotal moment for the company as it positions itself for future growth in the rapidly evolving electric vehicle market.
