August is set to be a busy month for smartphone launches in India, with brands including Samsung, Redmi, Vivo, Google, Poco and Oppo either launching or introducing new devices across the budget, mid-range and premium segments.
Samsung Galaxy F70 Pro 5G
Samsung has already launched the Galaxy F70 Pro 5G in India. The smartphone is available via Flipkart starting at ₹25,999 for the 6GB+128GB variant, while the 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB models are priced at ₹29,999 and ₹34,999, respectively.
The device features a 120Hz FHD+ Super AMOLED display protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+, a 50MP primary camera with OIS, a 5MP ultra-wide sensor, a 2MP macro camera, and a 6,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging.
Xiaomi has confirmed that the Redmi Note 17 will launch in India on August 6. The smartphone is expected to feature an 8,000mAh battery, Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor, 120Hz OLED display, 50MP rear camera and HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. Sales are expected to begin on August 11.
Vivo is also scheduled to launch the Vivo S2 on August 6. Based on leaks, the smartphone may offer a 1.5K curved OLED display, around a 7,000mAh battery and a triple-camera setup, with reports suggesting a 50MP periscope telephoto sensor. Pricing is expected between ₹40,000 and ₹45,000.
Google has confirmed its Pixel launch event for August 12, where it is expected to unveil the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold.
The upcoming lineup is expected to be powered by the Tensor G6 chipset and Titan M3 security processor. Reports also suggest Google could increase prices across the Pixel 11 series, with the base model expected to start at around ₹90,000 in India.
Poco is expected to launch the M8 Power 5G on August 4, while Oppo is also tipped to introduce the A7 Pro Max around the same time. Reports suggest the Oppo device could feature a 10,000mAh battery.
While Samsung Galaxy F70 Pro 5G is already available, specifications and pricing for the Redmi Note 17, Vivo S2, Google Pixel 11 series, Poco M8 Power 5G and Oppo A7 Pro Max are based on official teasers, leaks and reports. Final details will be confirmed at their respective launch events.
