Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced the launch of its ‘Freedom Plan’; a powerful new offer that gives users an entire month of 4G mobile service for just Re 1. Know With TBC: Freedom Plan

The ‘Freedom Plan’ comes packed with a set of attractive benefits for new users:

  • Price: Just Re 1 for one month of service.

  • Unlimited voice calls: Makes both local and STD calls completely free for 30 days.

  • Data: 2GB of high-speed 4G data per day; after reaching the daily limit, speeds are reduced in line with Fair Usage Policy.

  • SMS: 100 SMS messages per day at no additional cost.

  • Free SIM card: New customers receive a complimentary BSNL 4G SIM; no activation or joining fees.

  • Availability: The offer is valid nationwide for new users from August 1 to August 31, 2025. To enroll, individuals can visit their nearest BSNL retailer, Customer Service Centre, or use the official toll-free number.

This plan is exclusively available to new BSNL customers. Existing BSNL subscribers are not eligible for the offer, highlighting BSNL's strategy to grow its subscriber base and compete with private telecom companies.

This bold Independence Day campaign aligns closely with the government’s Digital India and Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) missions. BSNL’s rollout of over 100,000 new 4G sites across India leverages Make-in-India technology; bringing affordable, secure, and high-quality connectivity to millions.

BSNL’s ‘Freedom Plan’ comes on the heels of government directives encouraging the state-run operator to ramp up its customer base and boost average revenue per user (ARPU). The new offer is seen as a strategic move to lure subscribers away from competitors, especially as private operators have recently hiked tariffs. The sheer value of the plan matched with the backdrop of Independence Day patriotism makes this trial a uniquely competitive proposition in India’s telecom landscape.
