Instagram experienced a widespread outage on Saturday, with thousands of users reporting problems accessing the platform. Many said their feeds failed to load, posts and Reels were unavailable, and the app displayed errors while refreshing. Similar issues were also reported on Facebook and Facebook Messenger, suggesting a broader disruption across Meta's services.

According to outage-tracking platform Downdetector, reports increased sharply as users across multiple regions flagged problems with the mobile app and web version. Users reported blank feeds, failed uploads, login issues, and problems sending or receiving direct messages. On Messenger, some users said they were unable to send messages or had been logged out unexpectedly, while Facebook users reported "session expired" errors.

The outage affected users in several countries, including the United States, Europe, and Asia, with complaints emerging from major cities. Most reports related to feed loading, posting, and login issues.

At the time of reporting, Meta had not issued an official statement explaining the cause of the disruption. The company has previously attributed similar outages to technical or infrastructure-related issues after services were restored.

Saturday's disruption is the latest in a series of outages affecting Meta's platforms over the past year. Instagram, Facebook and Messenger have experienced multiple service interruptions, ranging from brief technical glitches to longer outages affecting millions of users.

The incident highlights the continued reliance on Meta's platforms for communication, content sharing and business operations, with users awaiting an official update on the cause and restoration of services.
