Realme on Tuesday officially launched the P4R 5G in India, positioning the device as a battery-first mid-range smartphone aimed at young users who prioritise endurance and build quality over flagship-level performance. The phone goes on open sale on June 17 via Flipkart and Realme's official website.

The P4R is the latest addition to Realme's increasingly crowded P4 series, which now includes the P4, P4 Pro, P4x, P4 Power, and P4 Lite. The P4R sits between the P4 Lite, which launched with a 7,000mAh battery and a 13MP main camera and the P4 Power, which carries a 10,001mAh battery and a more premium price point. With a seven-year battery health guarantee on a sub-₹19,000 device, Realme is explicitly pitching longevity as a differentiator in a segment where battery degradation has been a long-standing consumer concern.

Realme P4R 5G: Price and Variants

The Realme P4R 5G has been launched in three configurations: 4GB RAM and 128GB storage at ₹18,999, 6GB RAM and 128GB storage at ₹20,999, and 6GB RAM and 256GB storage at ₹22,999. An introductory launch offer of ₹2,000 brings the effective base price down to ₹16,999, valid for the first 12 hours of the June 17 sale. The device is available in Titanium Glare, Silver Glare, and Lavender Glare colour options.

Realme P4R 5G Battery: The Headline Feature

The standout specification is an 8,000mAh silicon-carbon Titan Battery, which Realme claims can deliver up to three days of usage on a single charge. Despite housing one of the largest batteries in its category, the phone maintains a slim 8.88mm profile and weighs 224 grams.

The battery supports 45W SUPERVOOC charging and is rated to maintain over 80 per cent health after seven years of use and 1,600 charge cycles. Realme claims up to 12 hours of gaming, 61 hours of calls, or 169 hours of music playback on a single charge.

The device incorporates bypass charging, which powers the motherboard directly during gaming and intensive tasks to reduce heat generation.

Realme P4R 5G: Display and Design

The P4R 5G features a 6.8-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a 144Hz refresh rate, up to 180Hz touch sampling rate, and up to 1,200 nits peak brightness. The phone adopts Realme's Floating Light Design language, featuring customisable Pulse Light effects and AI Power Light notifications.

Realme P4R 5G: Performance

The P4R 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, paired with up to 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Storage is expandable via a microSD card slot. A 5,300mm² vapour chamber cooling system manages thermals during sustained use.

Realme P4R 5G: Durability

The P4R 5G carries MIL-STD-810H military-grade certification and is IP65-rated for dust and water resistance, protecting against accidental splashes and light rain. The phone also features Realme's ArmorShell protection. It has additionally been drop-tested from a height of 1.8 metres.

Realme P4R 5G: Cameras

On the camera front, the device carries a 50MP AI-assisted rear camera with AI Pulse Light and an 8MP front camera. It runs Realme UI 7.0 with the company's NEXT AI suite of features.
