Tata Electronics is accelerating recruitment at its Hosur plant, aiming to hire 15,000 employees over the next six months to meet growing demand from Apple. The company’s revenue soared in FY25 from ₹3,752 crore to ₹66,601 crore, solidifying its position as a major player in India’s electronics and semiconductor manufacturing sector.
Tata Electronics is reportedly preparing for a major hiring drive at its Tamil Nadu facility. Sources indicate that the company plans to boost its workforce at the Hosur plant from 60,000 to 75,000 over the next six months, adding 15,000 employees to cater to increasing demand from Apple. According to The Economic Times, this move is aimed at meeting the company’s expanding production needs.
According to the report, Tata Electronics is rapidly expanding its electronics manufacturing operations, fueled by Apple's growing production in India. Data cited by ET in October shows that Apple’s iPhone exports from India hit a record $10 billion in the first half of the current fiscal year, marking a 75% increase from $5.71 billion in the same period last year.
"It's a significant achievement for the industry at large for an Indian player to reach this scale in a short span of time and to be part of a global value chain like Apple's," a source added. Tata Electronics is facing difficulties due to a lack of skilled workers. Although progress is being made, securing qualified talent remains a challenge, according to sources.
