The 4,000-square-foot Tesla Experience Center, located in the upscale Maker Maxity Mall at BKC, stands as the brand’s first physical presence in India. Designed with Tesla’s signature minimalist, white-themed aesthetic, the showroom introduces visitors to the company’s lineup—starting with the Model Y premium SUV, priced at ₹59.89 lakh (ex-showroom)

Chief Minister Fadnavis hailed Tesla’s entry as a pivotal moment for India’s growing EV ecosystem, stating that the launch is “a statement that Tesla has arrived in the right city and the right state.” He welcomed the global EV leader, emphasizing that Maharashtra is ready to support Tesla’s journey, not just in Mumbai but across the state.

Prospective buyers can explore Tesla’s vehicles, technologies, and global innovation ethos through interactive displays and curated visual storytelling, blending local cultural motifs with the brand’s futuristic identity.

Led by Chief Architect Neeta Sharada, the project was completed in just 45 days—a testament to Tesla’s efficiency and focus on innovation. BKC is Mumbai’s premier business district, chosen for its accessibility and status as a commercial and entrepreneurial powerhouse.

Fadnavis reiterated the Maharashtra government’s full support for Tesla, stressing the state’s leadership in EV infrastructure and readiness to become a preferred partner if the company pursues local manufacturing or R&D in the future.

While Tesla has yet to commit to an Indian manufacturing facility, industry insiders view the Mumbai showroom as a strategic move to gauge consumer interest and assess the premium EV opportunity in one of the world’s fastest-growing automotive markets.
