The two young women went missing on Friday after leaving home for college. When they did not return in the afternoon, their families contacted the colleges and learned that the girls had not attended classes. Concerned, the families began searching for them and eventually filed a missing person’s report with Dindoli police.

Police tracked the girls’ phones to a Swaminarayan temple, where CCTV showed them entering a toilet. Families, with temple staff, broke open the locked door and found the women unconscious; they were rushed to a hospital and pronounced dead. Police recovered anaesthetic drugs, syringes, and the girls’ phones for further investigation, with forensic reports pending.

At the scene, three syringes were found. Authorities believe there might be a shared cause for their suspected suicides. According to Dindoli police, as reported by The Indian Express, the younger girl was a first-year BCom student at Wadia Women’s College in Athwa, and the other was a second-year BCom student at Udhna Citizen College.

The Dindoli police have filed a case of accidental death and initiated an investigation.Police found that the women had searched on ChatGPT “how to commit suicide” and had a news article about a nurse who allegedly died using anaesthesia injections. Their phones have been sent to the forensic lab, and investigators are awaiting WhatsApp chat reports to determine the cause of death.
