Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday digitised a record 1.14 crore enumeration forms, pushing the state’s total to 6.40 crore about 41.44% of all forms. The large-scale drive is part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa stated that Booth Level Officers (BLO) are managing the distribution, collection, and digital processing of forms for more than 15.44 crore voters across over 1.62 lakh polling stations in the state.
Driven by heightened public awareness, strong voter engagement, and the dedicated efforts of BLOs, more than 1.14 crore forms were digitised within the past 24 hours, averaging 70 forms per BLO. In the districts of Shamli, Gonda, Ambedkar Nagar, Barabanki, Amroha, Sant Kabir Nagar, Auraiya, and Mirzapur, BLOs swiftly processed over 80 counting forms each, achieving an average exceeding 80 per BLO.
The CEO said in Auraiya, Chitrakoot, Ambedkar Nagar, Barabanki, Pilibhit, Saharanpur, and Moradabad, over 50% of the enumeration forms have been digitised. Eligible voters will be included in the voter list; the names of deceased, shifted, duplicate and untraced voters will be removed from the list.
After the SIR process, the state will compile a clean and transparent voter list. He urged all voters to accurately complete their forms and submit them to the BLOs promptly. Additionally, he instructed all district election officers to work closely with BLOs to ensure that personnel engaged in the SIR digitise the maximum number of counting forms each day, following their designated work plan.
