Pune: MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU) showcased groundbreaking student-led innovations in aerospace, robotics, automotive engineering, and sustainable technology at the MAKE IN MIT-WPU Pavilion during the Hack MIT-WPU 2025 event. The exhibition, which aimed to highlight technological advancements, commenced with a dynamic roadshow led by student clubs, followed by the formal inauguration of the pavilion.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by esteemed dignitaries, including Sunil, Additional Director General, Prasar Bharati; Sham Arjunwadkar, Foundry & Energy Conservation Consultant; and Yogesh Joshi, Global MDM Practice Head, Wipro Technologies. The guests engaged with students, explored their innovative projects, and commended their contributions to technology and engineering.
The exhibition featured an array of pioneering projects developed by students. Notable among them was the Chem-E-Car, a chemically powered vehicle that operates without electronic controls, demonstrating an innovative approach to sustainable transportation.
The Space Technology Research Group (STeRG) exhibited advanced spacecraft systems, highlighting expertise in aerospace components. Meanwhile, Team Phoenix presented drone technology with applications in autonomous flight, racing, and agriculture, equipped with custom-built controllers.

Sunil commended the students for their creativity, emphasizing that the MAKE IN MIT-WPU Pavilion reflects India’s dynamic innovation ecosystem. He lauded the university’s emphasis on real-world technology applications, expressing confidence that these young innovators will drive engineering and research advancements in the coming years.
Sham Arjunwadkar noted that the projects demonstrated the future of aerospace, sustainability, and automotive engineering. He appreciated the students' efforts in pushing technological boundaries and setting new benchmarks in engineering excellence.
Dr. Milind Pande, Pro Vice Chancellor of MIT-WPU and Chief Convenor of HackMIT-WPU, highlighted the event’s role in fostering innovation. “Our goal is to instill the philosophy of ‘Mind to Market’ and ‘Paper to Product’ in students. By nurturing ideas and enhancing intellectual abilities, we aim to create not job seekers, but job creators. This initiative strongly supports the Atmanirbhar Bharat and Startup India missions,” he stated.
