Pune: Maharashtra Industries Minister Uday Samant has assured that the state government will take stringent action against anyone harassing entrepreneurs.
Speaking at a press conference held in Pune on Tuesday (December 24), Samant refuted allegations by opposition parties that industries were moving out of Maharashtra, labeling such claims as part of a "fake narrative."
"Not a single industry has left the state. If entrepreneurs are being harassed, we will ensure that action is taken against the culprits," Samant asserted.
The conference was attended by Shiv Sena Pune city chief Pramod Bhangire, district chief Ramesh Konde, and other senior leaders. Samant reiterated the government’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment and highlighted Maharashtra's inclusive ethos. He assured that strict action would also be taken against individuals troubling local Marathi residents.
Addressing opposition criticism, Samant said, "During the tenure of the opposition when they were in power, certain projects like Airbus were lost due to lack of dialogue. They should explain why no white paper was issued back then. Our government is committed to protecting industries and ensuring investments across the state."
Samant also highlighted significant achievements in attracting investments, stating that projects worth ₹500 crore from the Tata Group are underway in Pune, Gadchiroli, Ratnagiri, and Kalyan-Dombivli districts. Furthermore, new industrial complexes are being planned in different regions, including Marathwada and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
Commenting on political prospects in Pune, Samant confidently stated that the Shiv Sena would work diligently to ensure its leadership in the Pune Municipal Corporation. He added that the selection of Pune's mayor would not happen without the party’s involvement.
On the administrative front, he mentioned that the appointments of guardian ministers were almost finalized and that the list would be made public within four days.
The minister also shared plans to establish a large factory in his constituency, further emphasizing the government's proactive approach to industrial development in Maharashtra.
