How to Prevent Such Incidents?

  • Fire safety experts advise caution while using dhoop, incense sticks, or candles. Here are some essential tips to avoid fire hazards at home:

  • Always use a stable, heat-resistant holder for incense sticks and dhoop.

  • Keep flammable materials like mattresses, curtains, and furniture away from burning incense.

  • Ensure the incense is fully extinguished before leaving the house or going to bed.

  • Supervise children and pets around burning incense.

What to Do in Case of a Fire?

  • Do not panic. Instead of using water, try to smother the fire with a wet cloth.

  • Turn off electrical switches if the situation allows.

  • If the fire spreads, call the fire department immediately.

  • Exit the house safely and inform security personnel and neighbors.
