Pune: The outbreak of Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS) in Pune and its surrounding areas has claimed another life, bringing the total death toll to six. In the past 24 hours, three new cases have been reported, raising the total number of affected individuals to 173.

Health officials attribute the outbreak to contaminated food and water, which has caused vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach infections among residents. Despite the rise in cases, health officials noted a decline in new infections over the past three days, with ten patients recovering and being discharged on Thursday (Feb 6). In total, 72 patients have recovered so far.
